SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Social responsibility is the principle that, in addition to pursuing profit generation,
companies should strive to act in a way that positively affects society and the world.
Examples of this are supporting issues that affect society, such as advocating political
or social issues that can help others. For example, advocating for gender equality laws,
purchasing fair trade products, implementing recycling and waste management.
There are fours types of corporate social responsibility: environmental (reducing energy
use, recycling and composting, limiting packaging), economic (investing in local
communities, supporting small and local businesses, donating), philanthropic
(volunteering, sponsoring, foundation or corporate trust), and ethical responsibility
(treating employees fairly, provide safe working environment, ethical standards,
transparent and honest business practices).
