HEADING
Testing: the core of "Social Street" emerged as a response to a concrete problem: the
impoverishment of social relationships within the Facebook group "Residenti in Via
Fondazza - Bologna." The recognition of a sense of loneliness, loss of belonging, and
urban decay sparked the idea of using the social network as a vehicle to regenerate
social ties.
Prototyping: use of Facebook as a platform: The choice to use Facebook was strategic.
The widely used and free platform served as the initial prototype to test the possibility
of connecting people. The creation of "closed" groups was a key feature of the
prototype, aimed at managing deviant behaviours and facilitating the transition from
virtual to real.
Territoriality as an aggregating element: he decision to confine groups to specific
territories was a significant phase of prototyping. This choice made the transition from
virtual to real more seamless, providing a testing ground to assess how territoriality
could promote interaction among group members.
